The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the Black Stars will be facing Mexico in an international friendly scheduled for October.
Although the date has been confirmed as October 17, the venue for the match is yet to be determined.
The GFA has signed a contract with the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF) and Soccer United Marketing (SUM) to secure this friendly encounter, which is part of the MexTour’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
Following their clash with Mexico, the Black Stars will continue their tour of the United States, where they will take on the USA at GEODIS Park on October 17.
These matches are crucial for Ghana as they prepare for upcoming competitions, including the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in November and the Africa Cup of Nations in January of the following year.
Black Stars are determined to make their mark in the World Cup qualifiers and secure qualification from Group I, where they will face tough competition from Mali, Madagascar, Comoros, Central African Republic, and Chad.
Prior to the Mexico friendly, the Black Stars will face a vital match against Central African Republic in the Afcon qualifiers in September. A positive result in that game will ensure their qualification for the tournament, which will be held in Ivory Coast next year.
